Yes, it is sort of curious isn’t it. Makes one wonder at the motives and methods. Was that genuine antiwar sentiment or merely political cover for a particular agenda?
Near where I live there was a group which would assemble on Friday afternoon, at a busy intersection holding signs displaying their objections to the war.One of my favorites “Iraq is a war crime!” Clearly not a deep thinker there.
Now I note they are not there. Well one time, but the sign still read Iraq is a war crime. Guess they weren’t too upset at all the other wars going on. I don’t see daily casualty counts either.
I also note that during the campaign, our President promised a new approach to the war. Shortly after taking office, he said he was forming a new strategy. He installed a hand picked commander and charged him with developing a winning plan for Afghanistan Somewhere around six or eight weeks ago he mentioned his strategy for victory.
Now that the general has presented him with a plan suddenly he has not had time to review the plan, he needs to have meetings to develop a strategy. He can’t discuss the new strategy until after he brings the Olympics to Chicago.
I have to respect those with deeply and genuinely held convictions, but reject the fake protesters and political opportunists who pretended to be antiwar protesters while using the deaths of American soldiers as political props for their agenda.
See, now you got me started again!
Keep the Faith!

sort of on topic..as you brought up the fighting. Why is it we are no longer hit over the head with the stats of killed soldiers now? There was a house in my neighborhood that had a lit board built on their fence that kept "the count". Newscasts and newspapers started their broadcasts with this information. Has it suddenly become less important?

UPDATE
http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/4108/print
Should Ireland transfer their national sovereignity to Brussels?

<blockquote cite="
On Friday Ireland Decides Europe’s Future
By Paul Belien

This Friday, the Irish people are again being asked to sign away their sovereignty and freedom to the European Union authorities in Brussels. When the matter was put before them in a referendum in 2008, the Irish voted “No.” Now they have been told to vote again on the same matter. Ireland is the only country of the 27 EU member states where the people are allowed a direct vote about their future. In the other 26 countries which together with Ireland make up the European Union, the governments – not the people – have already decided to transfer national sovereignty to Brussels.

The EU leaders want Ireland to vote “yes.” They are intent on forcing the Irish to vote again and again until they say “yes.” In the past weeks, politicians from all over Europe, including Ireland’s own government ministers, have been threatening the Irish people that a second “No”-vote will have serious economic repercussions, although it has not been specified what these repercussions will be. ">

Here, Here Rev!

Beck's Common Sense was a good read too!

Another good read for Freedom loving patriots is "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross. It's fiction based on factual events and provides an alternative to firefights in the streets. It's 86X pages but I could hardly put it down.

The ultimate goal of all these progressive bills is to facilitate a New World Order which will join the US, Canada and Mexico (yes! Mexico) to the European Union. It's merely a stepping stone to establishment of a One World Government!

So, George
What will be your tipping point? What do you think would be the result once we reach this point? It's like the open ended question I've been asked, and often ask myself:
What happens when Atlas Shrugs?
What's your thinking?

There is a tipping point from inaction to action. We aren't there yet, but getting close. I don't know what the event will be, but I think most regular people will recognize it for being a watershed moment. Some very interesting times we live in.

Sometimes, the simplest explanation to an issue is the best. You are exactly right in your explanation of the health care bill. It's all about control, always was, always will be. I do believe that the middle aged(me), and the elderly have "come alive" on this issue. The pro health care bill people think these town hall attendees are there just to voice their opinion on the health care issue--and they are. But they don't realize the bigger reason they're there is to protest the wholesale intrusion into their personal lives, making decision for them that the government should have no part of. The president's people just don't get it. The raw nerve that has been struck by this health care bill is just getting started. Emotions relating to this issue are contagious. As one attendee to a town hall meeting said, "you have awakended a sleeping giant". The Presiden't team don't have a clue as to what's really going on. They opened up a can of worms that grows by the day.

One other thing. The president's team calling these town hall attendees names such as "brown shirt nazi's, thugs, klansmen,", and so forth, won't win them a lot of style points with the elderly. They are eroding their base supporters by the thousands.

The president's team of advisors have been smoking too much "beltway buglewood", and need to get in touch with the real world. And someone needs to tell the president that we have video tape of him saying one thing one day, and saying the exact opposite the next. it's one of those modern inventions that have been the bane of many presidents. Just ask "no new taxes" Bush #1. I bet he could give some lessons to the messiah Obama.

I think what happened is that too many people here in SC (attracted in part by Palin though operating mostly out of fear of Obama's socialism) pulled the straight Republican ticket due to simply not knowing anything about the Dem in the race.

I'm there with you on the third, fourth, fifth, etc. parties. It's time to flood the political arena with so many parties that parties mean much less than the individual. Then we'll be back closer to where our Founding Fathers originally meant us to be.
