“Hello,” he lied.

Posted by revkharma on February 28, 2009

It is a truism that politicians often play fast and loose with the truth. They answer questions vaguely, and dodge those they cannot tap dance around. However, the sheer scope of dishonesty exhibited by our current President is stunning. He seems to say almost the opposite of what he intends, and somehow he gets away with it. His huge, bloated debt package, designed to create the largest deficit in history is called a short term “Stimulus and job creation package’. Even the Congressional Budget Office warned before it was passed that the scope of debt created would shrink GDP within 5 years. He moaned that he had attempted to get bipartisan support, but was spurned by the opposition party, when in fact the bill was drafted entirely in secret, by the savagely partisan San Fran Nan, left wing Speaker of the House. The only cover they got was from routinely left wing RINO’s in the senate.

He gains support by pledging to give  tax rebates to “95% of all Americans”. All the time he and his stooges are repeating this, he knows that fully 45% of Americans pay no taxes at all. What they are getting is, in fact, a handout, money transferred from those who work to pay their way and are the real support for the country.

In his address to the nation he characterises tax cuts this way:

“A surplus became an excuse to transfer wealth to the wealthy instead of an opportunity to invest in our future.”

Allowing those who have earned it to keep their own wages is not ‘transferring it to them”, it is simply forbearing the confiscation of their property. As for ‘investing in our future’ that is the new way to attempt to disguise government spending. When people like the Great and Powerful Obama, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid decide they know best how to spend money, they confiscate it and call it an investment. The largest deficit, combined with the highest government debt load in history seems pretty far away from what anyone would call an investment.

Now he has announced that he will withdraw all U.S. forces in Iraq by a “Date Certain” in August of 2010. Except he will not pull all troops out by then, and of course he might not do what he promises if the situation changes and he decides not to do what he said he will do. Set aside the honesty issue here. If  I were an Iranian funded Shiite ‘freedom fighter’ seeking to impose my way on the rest of Iraq, (think Moqtada al-Sadr) I would now pull back. Maybe I’d open a food store, or sell flowers. Fill the back room with inventory, and as many weapons as I could hide.  The Great and Powerful Obama says he has done what he can, and orders all combat forces out. Once the U.S. troops are gone, simply hand the guns and RPG’s to my Iranian trained militia, and start the destruction again. Then say since there are no Americans to oppose me, I am the new sheriff in town, and install a de facto Iranian allied regime.

President Obama says, in front of the cameras, the nice words his pollsters have determined the American people want to hear.  He knows that those who will be receiving a gift from the taxpaying suckers will not care what he says. The dimwits who get their news from the Daily Show, and the Tonight Show will hear the feel good plattitudes and think he’s just a nice guy trying to help.

Those who pay the bills this administration is running up will hold on for as long as they can. But make no mistake, the bill WILL come due. And all of America will be on the hook to settle the tab. Unless people can recognize the danger his lying words are steering us into we will all face a backlash worse than anything this country has seen in generations.

As  people begin to see the results of this “Change” imposed upon our nation by these increasingly deceptive people they will have few choices. The class envy which is the foundation of his economic platform may likely turn ugly. As those who carry more and more of the burden find that they are increasingly unable to provide for themselves and the rest of the confiscatory scheme, many will simply find ways to opt out. Business owners will find it necessary to shrink. This will entail more and more job cuts, not the job growth promised by the Great and Powerful Obama. Many who have entered the realm of what the government deems ” Wealthiest Americans” will find ways to scale back their earnings enough to escape the punitive taxes imposed on their income. Rather than generate higher treasury funds, we will see tax revenue decrease in real dollar terms. The resultant deficits will explode into even more unimaginable figures. The alternatives will be to eliminate the programs which got him in power, or shift more taxes onto more Americans. Either choice will result in anger from those who put him there. Will the resultant “Catastrophe” then engender ’emergency powers’ of the administration?  We will have to see. This administration has already shown an amazing disdain for the constitution when it is politically inconvenient.  The U.S. census has been moved from control of the Commerce department to direct control by the White House. Congress has moved swiftly to provide a congressional representative with voting authority for DC, long a priority of the Democrat party, and a campaign pledge of Obama.  Part of his economic agenda is the ‘Cramdown” legislation, which will grant authority to bankruptcy judges to unilaterally alter terms, principal and interest on valid mortgage contracts.

The provisions for the census are spelled out in US code, title 13, chapter 1. The administration cannot abrogate this. this is Unconstitutional.

Article 1, section 10 of the constitution prohibits any “law impairing the obligation of contracts”.   Once again, this is unconstitutional.

The qualifications for membership in the House of Representatives states: a member of the house MUST be an inhabitant of that state in which he shall be chosen. Article 1, section 2.

The Federal District is established in article 1, section 8. this establishes a federally controlled district, which is specifically NOT a state. to provide, by statute for a voting representative in the House is, once again Unconstitutional.

For matters of power and political expediency this administration has shown, in a very short time, a remarkable  willingness to ignore and jettison restrictions imposed by the Constitution. The level of mendacity is stunning, even by the standards of DC politics. The creation of, and political use for crisis and urgency should cause anyone paying attention to wonder just where it will stop. The first month under the guidance and administration of the Great and Powerful Obama has proved enlightening and frightening. I fear it will get worse!

Lie Down with Dogs, Get Up With Fleas

Posted by revkharma on February 19, 2009

Let’s  take a quick walk around the cesspool known as Chicago Style Politics. We don’t even need to go to the roots of the Daley machine. To get a feel of how things can become totally corrupted, we can look at just a couple of offices in the Illinois congressional delegation. Remember Dan Rostenkowski. a loud, pushy congressman from Illinois who was eventually indicted and convicted for fraud in relation to the House Post Office corruption scam. After he went to jail (incidentally keeping his deluxe House of Representatives pension) his seat was filled by a place holder then was filled by none other than Rod Blagojevich. Rod went back to the Land of Lincoln, where he tried to sell the US senate seat vacated by the Great and Powerful Obama.  He eventually appointed Roland Burris. Now Burris is being investigated for perjury, as it appears he was less than candid when testifying before Blago’s impeachment committee. He somehow forgot that he had several conversations with the Gov’s brother about rounding up some cash for ‘campaign funds’. Seems his memory was refreshed when it looks as if the FBI has tapes of the conversations.

Loop back again.. Blagojevic was succeeded by Rahm Emanuel. He of the ‘ take advantage of a crisis’ fame.  A fierce fighter, he is reputed to be a vicious bully witha  long memory and longer reach for revenge.

Blago has long standing ties to Tony Rezko, A felon convicted on corruption charges. Rezko bundled millions of dollars of contributions for Blagojevich, and many of his associates later found jobs in state government.  Rezko also has long standing ties to The Great and Powerful Obama. There has still never been any in depth look at the connection, but one look at the real estate deal that resulted to Obama owning the lot adjacent to Rezko will show just how easily corruption can be swept under the rug.

So, let’s look here, Rostenkowski, Burris, Blagojevich, Emanuel, Obama.  All these dogs seem to lie in the same pen, and my guess is that all of them share the same fleas. I just want to know why no one seems willing to do something about the fleas jumping all about the Great and Powerful Obama.

He has surrounded himself for years with many corrupt people. One look at the fiasco that is his cabinet will clue anyone in. How many people either stepped down or withdrew nominations because of corrupt practices? Even his Treasury Secretary admitted to non payment of his taxes, but the Great O managed to slip him in anyway. Just how long will his dishonesty and outright corruption go unremarked in the media?

Holder Is A Disgrace

Posted by revkharma on February 18, 2009

I will have more to say later, I’m a bit pressed for time right now.

But I have to get this out, even though it’s short.

Today Attorney General Eric holder spoke to employees in the context of Black History Month. He is reported to have said : ( full text here)

…in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards.

…average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race.

I’m sorry, but with all due respect to the office, this man is either  stupendously ignorant or colossally disingenuous. Remember during the campaing, The Great and Powerful Obama took to the lectern to give a hugely important speech about race. We have simply not STOPPED discussing it!

More on the racial politics angle later.

Stem Cells: Demagogery, Deception, and the Abuse of the Constitution

Posted by revkharma on February 18, 2009

[Note: this is a bit long, but be patient. Please read to the end. This is not a single topic essay!]

It’s been stated here before, the Constitution has been corrupted. Here is another way it has been done

We have all seen the battles over the last several years over the use, misuse,  and politicization of ‘Stem Cells’. A major part of the issue must be proper usage of terms. Not many can forget the moving political ad, with Michael J. Fox pleading for federal dollars for ‘stem cell therapy’ to cure his Parkinson’s disease.  John Edwards famously stood on a stage and said that ‘People like Christopher Reeve would be walking ‘ if  the federal government would only have funded stem cell research. When one looks into the science of the matter, things are just a bit less clear. In fact, they become quite dark. One of the major problems is with defining terms. For years the term ‘stem cell’ has been used as a short hand for ’embryonic stem cell’. Research on adult stem cells has none of the moral conflict which is repugnant to so many. However, the political types who get involved seem only to discuss the need for ’embryonic stem cells’. Even when President Bush famously signed his executive order approving for the first time ever federal funding for research for cell lines which had originally been derived from embryonic tissue, opponents actually claimed that he had blocked funding!

How often have you seen anything in the media about the dangers of embryonic stem cell use? We hear over and over how this is the magic bullet for so many different afflictions. Here are just a few items which may open a few eyes.

Item 1:

In November 2007, researchers in the United States and Japan shocked the world of cell biology by successfully transforming regular adult cells into the equivalent of embryonic stem cells without using human embryos. The technique has since spread rapidly in the field, not only because it avoids ethical problems (and therefore political controversy and public funding restrictions) but also because it is a great deal easier and cheaper than working with embryos and seems so far to yield the same results. Researchers all over the world have been tinkering with the technique to improve its efficiency, to eliminate the need to use genetically engineered viruses to reprogram the cells, and to look for other applications of the lessons this discovery suggests about how cells function.

Item 2:

It was unambiguously clear five years ago that embryonic stem cells robustly form tumors (teratomas) when transplanted into adult tissues, and this remains the case today. Teratomas are benign tumors that contain a variety of differentiated cell types (hair, teeth, muscle, etc.). …

Embryonic stem cell advocates were well aware of the tumor-forming potential of these cells. (Indeed, teratoma formation following injection of embryonic stem cells into adult mice is still today the test of whether a researcher has successfully generated a bona fide embryonic stem cell line.)

Item 3:

WASHINGTON (AP) – A family desperate to save a child from a lethal brain disease sought highly experimental injections of fetal stem cells—injections that triggered tumors in the boy’s brain and spinal cord, Israeli scientists reported Tuesday.

OK, so now we have to step back and look at things a little differently. And I believe some questions are in order here.

Recent research has actually shown that there is more promise, and less potential for danger using so called ‘Adult cells” than working with ’embryonic cell lines’. There have even been tests done where an adult cell is converted directly to another type of cell, without involving  “nuclear transfer”. So, if there can be such transformative research done without the ethical objections of embryonic destruction the question must be asked: Why continue to obfuscate the issue, and why demand more funding from the federal government for this increasingly unneeded research?

When the academics seize upon an idea, and manage to get federal funding ( that means the 50% of Americans who pay taxes are footing the bill) there is a kind of inertia. Because a federal grant was issued, others will piggy back on it. As with most federal outlays they tend to increase over time rather than decrease. Projects get a built in constituency and generate lobby interests. Gullible people, uneducated in the facts are used to pressure congress to pay for continued funding to do things the way they have been done, rather than follow more promising recent avenues.  This is only one more example where the federal government has vastly and egregiously expanded it’s reach beyond the scope and mandate in the Constitution. There would be no need for ‘ethics reviews’ of various research proposals by various congressional and White House committees if the Constitution were used as a guide. Simply put, the most efficient way to fund such research is through private grants, where the most promising and effective paths will succeed.

So, once more we see the danger, the corruption that results of Federal Government intrusion into the private sector. Both the Constitution and those receiving funding are tainted by this. This is just one more example of how the government in DC has run off the rails and betrayed the visions of the Founders. I defy anyone to find, anywhere in the text of the U.S. Constitution any justification for the Government of the United States of America to provide funding for stem cell research of any kind at all. And please, don’t use the ‘expanded scope of the Commerce Clause” that’s intellectually dishonest and you know it.  Hmmm, ‘provide for the common welfare’? Nah.. this is research for a SPECIFIC task, which will benefit a select few. It can’t legitimately be considered ‘common welfare.’ Oh , I know, because it’s ‘The Right Thing To Do”. We will he helping so many who otherwise could not get such help. This will shock some, but to that argument I say this: So What? Because something is good, or beneficial to some of the population is not a constitutional justification for the expenditure of federal funds.

Finally, here are a few relevant comments, from someone quite a bit more in touch with the intent of the founders while drafting the Constitution:

In 1794, when Congress appropriated $15,000 for relief of French refugees who fled from insurrection in San Domingo to Baltimore and Philadelphia, James Madison stood on the floor of the House to object saying, “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”
-James Madison, 4 Annals of congress 179 (1794)

“…[T]he government of the United States is a definite government, confined to specified objects. It is not like the state governments, whose powers are more general. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government.”
-James Madison

That no free government, or the blessing of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue, and by frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.”
— George Mason, the Virginia Declaration of Rights, 1776

“We must confine ourselves to the powers described in the Constitution, and the moment we pass it, we take an arbitrary stride towards a despotic Government.”
— James Jackson, First Congress, 1st Annals of Congress, 489

There are many other such remarks in the early history of our Republic. If such men as these, including authors of the document says it’s not there, I think I will trust them.

Now, how can we stop the dolts in DC from continuing to shred that document?  That’s a topic for another day. Some are working on some ideas for that!.

Keep the Faith!

Another One Surrenders?

Posted by revkharma on February 16, 2009

When Senator Clinton accepted the post as Secretary of State for the Great and Powerful Obama, there was a long, drawn out drama in New York to find her replacement. After dancing with a Trust fund baby, and another Dynasty child, the Governor of NY made a relatively sane choice, selecting Kristin Gillibrand, from Upstate NY. She immediately angered some as she has a solid reputation as being a defender of the Second Amendment.   She drew  full blast anger from Carolyn McCarthy.  Mccarthy is a state representative from Long Island, whose husband was killed in the LIRR massacre in 1993.       She is a one note singer, whose entire reason for entering politics has been to diminish and repeal Second Amendment rights. Mccarthy seems to think that disarming more law abiding  New Yorkers will somehow enable them to defend themselves should another Colin Ferguson draw a bead on a train full of suburbanites. The logic is as  twisted as a soft pretzel from a street vendor.  She has launched vitriolic attacks at Sen. Gillebrand since the moment  her appointment was announced.  Because Ms Gillebrand has not repudiated the Second Amendment, Mccarthy says she is unfit to serve in the US Senate.

Recently  the press has revealed that Sen Gillebrand has “two guns stored under her bed”. Oh The HORROR!! A law abiding citizen, exercising her rights, and taking affirmative steps to protect herself and her family!  This will NEVER do. Why how will the government justify their existence if people take care of themselves!

Well, little by little, in incremental steps we can begin to see the Junior Senator from NY being worn down by political pressure.  It has now been revealed that she has ‘moved the guns from under her bed‘. And, for the record, they are only rifles, her husband hunts, after all.   Furthermore, for safety reasons, she says, she keeps the bullets separated from the rifles.  This of course negates any safety benefit, unless  she can somehow convince any intruders to hold still for a while as she finds the bullets and loads the weapons. Without bullets, a rifle is no more use than a baseball bat, and probably worse.

I certainly hope she will return to her rural roots, and once again embrace the Second Amendment which is still regarded as a fundamental right in MOST of NY State. If not, we will mourn the loss of common sense and the elimination of a potentially sane voice in the Donkey party.  This will bear some long term watching. I, for one, will watch her closely!.

What is Freedom Worth? To You?

Posted by revkharma on February 14, 2009

I have had several conversations recently with Paladin. He has a solid grasp of reality, and a depth of experience.  Here is his reflection on some of the challenges we face:

What is Freedom Worth?  To you?

By Paladin

I was asked to write “something” to let others know my thoughts on what is taking place in our country.  Last night the Congress passed a bill consisting of almost 1100 pages which, as far as we can determine, nobody has read but Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the Obama Whitehouse.  This bill was rushed through and rammed down the throat of the approximately half of Americans that do not support Obama and friends.

What’s in this bill?  What onerous provisions are in there which may threaten the liberty of Americans?  Or, deliver more power to usurp our rights and liberty?  Personally, I would have liked to have known answers to those questions BEFORE this legislation was passed and forced upon us.  Well, we’ll be finding out in the coming days and weeks.  My guess is it is change we can all agree will plunge this nation into chaos – economically, ideologically, politically and culturally.  We are NOW in a Cultural War whether Americans want to acknowledge it or not.

There are at least three bills that have been introduced into Congress recently that concern me greatly.  The first is HR 45.  The Blair Holt Firearms Registration to Confiscation bill (my title).  The second, HJ RES 5, to repeal the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution thereby eliminating term limits on the office of President;  And, last but not least, HR 40, establishing a Commission to determine reparations for Black Americans in compensation for slavery (which few, if any, living Black Americans have ever suffered!).

Another recent action by the Obama Administration, combined with the above bills, gives cause for GREAT concern.  That is the hijacking of the US Census from the Department of Commerce by the President and his Chief of Staff.  This action is most likely unconstitutional but, unfortunately for the American people, they can no longer trust the judiciary to uphold the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land. That, however, is a subject for another opinion piece.

Now consider this, via repeal of the 22nd Amendment and through the manipulation of the Census the Obama administration can redraw congressional districts to ensure they have a majority in each district AND then funnel appropriations into those districts to ensure the democrats and Obama can remain in power indefinitely.   This will all be done in coordination with ACORN and other like-minded leftist groups who swoon with allegiance to Obama.  (Unless it has changed since I last heard, there is at least $4 BILLION of TAXPAYER money [NOT Government money – the Government doesn’t have any money except what it extorts from the people]  ‘earmarked’ for ACORN in the “Stimulus Bill”.)

Then via the Blair Firearms Registration to Confiscation bill (my title), they can begin to catalogue all firearms and owners for future use in confiscation operations.  Leaving them with the full and unopposed power to do ANYTHING they like.

Folks, these actions form the foundation of how Adolf Hitler came to power!  Denying it won’t change the facts!  The masses swayed in undulation to Hitler much like is happening these days with Obama.  Look at the history of Castro’s rise to power also!

So, what do we do?  Grab our weapons and run around shooting all politicians and illegitimate government agents (they’re all illegitimate now as far as I’m concerned – unless they defy their orders – because they ALL have violated their oaths of office to uphold, support and defend the Constitution).  As a matter of fact, the federal agencies especially, actively and knowingly, work to subvert the Constitutional protections which they’re sworn to uphold!

NO, it’s NOT time to grab our weapons – except to clean and ensure they’re ready for use (throw in a little practice time too!).  What it is time for is for ALL concerned patriots to begin organizing street protests.  We must seek all manners of peaceful resolution of this conflict before we can justify, to those Americans who aren’t as astute, our last resort need for use of force.

What else should we do?  We should, solely for the purpose of defense, begin to organize our local communities of fellow patriots who think and believe as we do.  We need to establish leadership, create a way to communicate — as we can fully expect the illegitimate Federal or State agents to cut off telephone communications, landline and cellular/satellite, and internet connections.  I’m sure they’ll also be able to jam signals from the two-way radios many of us use for hunting and other recreational purposes.  So, how are we going to communicate?  That’s a good question.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Does Anyone Know the Name?

Posted by revkharma on February 14, 2009

For a while I have been discussing some of the intended ‘Change’to be imposed upon us by The Great and Powerful Obama, and his acolytes. One of the themes that has hit me on a recurring basis is a comparison of the rise of Obama and the rise of Mussolini and fascist Italy in the 1930’s. Some have disagreed, others have merely dismissed me as ‘over the top’ and a fanatic.  Often in the media he is (laughably) described as a ‘centrist’ Democrat. Those who are willing to use a term frequently refer to him as ‘socialist’. Many Republicans, and others opposed to him scream that he is ‘socializing’ a huge chunk of the economy. Technically this is not correct. Socialism would involve outright government confiscation of business and private property. He’s not doing that.

I still circle back, and look to Mussolini. Charming, popular, charismatic. He and Obama both had single minded desire to power, and compliant press to aid them. But I am crazy, I’m told. Everyone knows Fascists are evil right wingers.

Still, I can’t shake the comparison. Similar times, similar economic ‘crisis’, a charismatic leader who moves to power claiming the ability to lead his people out of trouble, if only they will put their faith in him.

Much of his early acclaim was due to jobs programs, meant to reduce nation wide unemployment. He set up make work programs, and provided ‘infrastructure’ programs to rebuild Italy.

His government  allowed private property, and business, however control of much of the private sector was directed by the government if Il Duce.  His government also used wage and price controls. ( is any of this sounding remotely familiar?)

During his time, government condemned and censored opponents, controlling education and media to portray him and his policies in the best possible light.   The more you dig, the more of the roots of Obamania is visible. We could go back, and substitute Obama and the Democrat party in place of Mussolini and the Fascist party, and scarcely see any difference. I am not alone here either.   Michael Ledeen has an essay much  scholarly and in depth than mine over at Pajamas mediaHe calls out the word Fascist and wonders why no one else is even thinking of saying it.

Pay attention folks. As The great and Powerful Obama  sees greater and scarier crises to deal with we will continue to lose liberty and rights. We are standing around, arguing procedural rules while The Republic is being transformed into a Fascist State. That’s the real name for what he’s proposing, and Pelosi and Reid are supporting. Please, spare me the cries. I know Hitler and the Nazis, Bush and the Republicans– they were the fascists, right? Go here and read Jonah Goldberg’s blog. Read his book “Liberal Fascism

There is only one way to protect your liberty. Be prepared to defend it in any way necessary. Speak out, shout, write about it. Don’t let the media get lazy, don’t permit your representatives to hide from the truth and from your anger. Do SOMETHING or you will be left with nothing!

While We Weren’t Looking

Posted by revkharma on February 14, 2009

Last night the US Congress completed a theft. The House passed the ‘conference bill” to spend a trillion dollars. Later, abetted by three RINO senators, the Senate also ratified the “stimulus bill”

Make no mistake, this is clearly one of the the single largest transfer of wealth in history. The numbers are staggering. Not only in real dollar terms, but in the portion of the economy affected. FDR’s New Deal programs, the previous record holder for single time theft effectively allocated approximately 2% of GDP toward government directed economic policies. This monstrosity corrals and controls about 5% of GDP. This is in a single spending bill!

The unprecedented scope of this is simply breathtaking. With no oversight, no input from others, no controls Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and The Great and Powerful Obama have rammed a massive takeover of economic activity in a matter of weeks. No matter if we want it or not, we are in for Change.  There is a significant chance this will only accelerate the collapse of the US economy. ( Hell even Biden offered his assessment that “best case we are expecting a 30% chance we got all of this wrong!)

More and more I do believe we need to prepare for the worst!

Congo town proves personal defense is a personal responsibility

Posted by deaconkharmafuture1 on February 13, 2009

{from The Deacon}

I have been on other projects and efforts but I had to make a brief return from obscurity to draw attention to this tidbit. ”  Congo town mounts own defense against rebels.” I actually got a little welled up at this (from mixed anger and pride) today when I read it. A people left to die horribly, by those professing to have their interest at heart, prevailed and really thumbed their noses at these effete snobs. UN “aide workers” and “security forces”, both who provided nothing their names would indicate, were said to be, quote watching the phenomenon with trepidation.” (Notice I highlighted “watching”) Further, they said that they quote  “fear these self-defense groups could transform into a menacing force”. I have a significant and rare level of distaste for these indescribable elitists that think they know better what you need, want, or deserve,. The villagers, however, said “we deserve life and will live, regardless of your uninvolved and useless opinion”. Today, they are alive but would not be, were they still awaiting those who were “watching with trepidation”. Once again, people taking care of their own, is shown with glaring certitude to be more feasible than any police-force or peace-keeping force. Once again, it proves what we and our Founding Fathers knew all along. The right of a people to defend themselves is God given. Furthermore, no man should ever deem themselves wise enough to question or hold in contempt those rights granted by God. It proves to those who claim to be defenders of life and freedom, that the only ones who can be guaranteed to be there when the situation dictates, are the ones already there. I hope we all can learn something from the Congo. From the Warsaw Ghetto, the African Congo, or the American colonies, we see time and again that a people determined to resist can make a difference. Had the UN, The Nazi’s, or the Crown had their way, these groups would all have been disarmed for their convenient destruction. I hope we remember this, the next time someone comes for our rights. I fear it will be sooner than we think. And to the brave people of the Congo: I am so proud of a people who, told by both sides to lie down and die like cattle, said to both, “no”.

Quoted text credited to the article by MICHELLE FAUL, Associated Press Writer

Yet another region shows that armed citizenry can protect itself. Flying in the face of this is the constant disarmament attempts by UN and other officials. You must, if any logic is within you, begin to ask why do they REALLY so want to disarm people. Why, when time and again and well over the number of sensasionalized bad occurances, firearms are used for good.

Excerpt is from the link below,2933,520947,00.html

—Thursday, May 21, 2009
Print ISLAMABAD —  Armed residents repelled an attempt by Taliban militants to expand their reach in Pakistan’s Swat Valley as foreign aid for refugees fleeing an army offensive in the northwestern region passed $200 million, officials said.

The attempted infiltration in Kalam indicated insurgents are feeling pinched by an army offensive and are seeking new shelter, while the local resistance suggested growing public confidence in an anti-Taliban operation supported by the United States.

Fifty Taliban fighters tried to enter Kalam, but that residents gathered quickly Wednesday to fight them off, Deputy Mayor Shamshad Haqqai told The Associated Press. Residents of Kalam captured eight militants during a shootout and were expecting another attack, Haqqai said.
We will not allow Taliban to come here,” he said. Kalam, a town in the far north of the valley, has about 50,000 residents and has so far remained beyond Taliban control.—

I wonder if the UN was watching this one (much like the congo town that defended itself) “with trepidation” too?

Once again, chalk one up to folks defending their homes and having the means to do so.

Questions That Bothered Him So

Posted by revkharma on February 13, 2009

An old Jimmy Buffett song has a coda, with the following words:

“…lookin for answers
To questions that bothered him so “

Lately there have been so many different things going on, that those lyrics came to mind. I have so many questions. Here are a few thoughts, and some questions that are certainly bothering me:

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”– Raum Emanuel, Chief of Staff for the Great and Powerful Obama

The Great and Powerful Obama recently said the following, during one of his regular radio addresses:

“…if we don’t move swiftly to put this plan in motion, our economic crisis could become a national catastrophe.

Now we have been regaled with tales of woe and misery to follow should we not kneel and submit more and more of our free market economy, and thus our lives to be ruled by Obama and his pals in congress. Nancy Pelosi, the Hag from San Fran essentially composed the bill in secret. Harry Reid did the same in the Senate. Eventually there was a “Compromise committee” to work out the differences. They did things like strip out the ‘e-verify’ provisions, thus allowing illegal immigrants to obtain money to help us out of our crisis.

I can’t shake the feeling that this entire thing is simply a great big smoke screen. The tax cheating Treasury secretary pretends to explain his plan, gives an outline worthy of Abbott and Costello, and the stock market tanks again. Then we are told the crisis is worse than we thought, and of course the solution has got to be more government.

Not just more government, but more of their kind of government. Little noticed in the shriek and shout over the ‘stimulus bill’ is a bill introduced into the house.  House resolution 5, introduced Jan 6 by Jose Serrano of NY looks repeal the 22nd Amendment. This will repeal presidential term limits. Imagine how much fun the Great and Powerful Obama could have if he could be elected to four terms, like his hero FDR?

Remember, this is the crowd who condemned GW Bush for running up the deficit. ( And I don’t disagree with that criticism either!) But now, with a single bill they are preparing to DOUBLE the projected deficit for the current fiscal year. They have their strategic partners in the pliant media take to the airwaves and tell us how “this is as bad as the Great Depression”. The next breath emerges with prescriptions to cure the disease of deficits with …MORE DEFICITS!. Imagine this, you have run up your credit cards, and now have some steep payments coming due. You owe $1000.00 in payments, and have $50.00 in your check book. How do you solve the problem? Easy, advance an extra grand from your credit cards to pay the credit card bills! All fixed! Well, we all know how long THAT would work. And deficit spending, to fix a deficit induced economic collapse will work out just as well!

Next question, who’s funding the deficits? We are selling treasury paper to the Chinese government on a regular basis. We purchase their slave manufactured trinkets with worthless paper money, which is backed by a treasury funded by money borrowed from the Chinese. We all know the Communist Chinese are devout and faithful friends of the USA. What happens when they call the notes? What will happen on the day that we can’t borrow any more to pay the outstanding debt?  What part of America will be claimed to pay our debts?  Will the American labor market become the next pool of slave labor to enable the Chinese  to continue to make cheap goods to sell to other countries?

I started with the old pirate singer’s words. The problem is I only have questions, I am not close to the answers. Or maybe I simply don’t want to know the answers that I suspect may be true. I and many others are dancing around the issue, but the path is narrowing, and more and more it appears that the road we are travelling will be hard and rough travelling. What the world looks like if and when we finish this part of the journey is anyone’s guess. I don’t doubt that it will not resemble what we have seen in the past.

Robert A. Heinlein once said:You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don’t ever count on having both at once.  We may need to consider his words carefully.

Keep the Faith
