Paris Burns: DC Remains Too Cool

Paris is burning, and DC is chilly. We have seen a well planned, well executed and devastating attack in Paris. Islamic fanatics have killed scores and it appears to be a direct result of the plans and achievements of the leaders of the West.
“Refugees” from Syria, and radicalized Europeans have struck in the heart of France with bloody results.
In the US, reaction is mixed. Our president has resolutely refused to change course, with his administration standing firm in their plans to import tens of thousands of those very same refugees.
After years of minimizing the role of ISIS, and refusing to even say ‘Islamic Terror’ President Obama on Friday, the day of the massacre, was quoted once more with noted ignorance, claiming that ISIS was now contained, and not a growing threat. At the gathering of world leaders, the American president was noticeably late for the formal gathering for a memorial moment of silence to honor the dead from the ISIS assault.
Even today, when pressed by media, President Obama has steadfastly refused to respond forcefully, with this the most telling exchange:

“CNN’s Jim Accosta said…’I guess the question is, and if you’ll forgive the language is”Why can’t we take out these bastards”?
Obama scoffed at the question: “What I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of ‘American Leadership’ or America winning’ He said firmly”

This, then is pretty decisive and clear. This man, the president of the USA is NOT interested in victory by America.

Immediately following the attacks, Obama announced that he was releasing five Yemeni prisoners from Guantanamo, including the man who was Osama Bin Laden’s body guard. He appears bent on  showing he cares more for Islamists than Americans.
Why is this? What can possibly be the answer?

Our president has sometimes been portrayed as being an islamist. He has denounced those who have questioned his Christian credentials. Recall the scrambling to rephrase and reframe this famous quote in an interview with George Stephanopolis, where he responded to a question with an answer about ” My Muslim Faith” ?  If in fact, Obama had been raised as a Muslim by his father, then later in life he became Christian, then according to the Sharia law, he is an apostate. If this were the case, he would be subject to death by true believers.  As it happens, there have not been calls for his death for this crime.  Yet he continues to show more concern for defaming Islam than defending Christianity.
Answers range from his leftist upbringing, racialist philosophy, to Al Taqiyya.
But, in truth, the answers are irrelevant. The truth, the facts, are plain enough. As long as he is in command, Obama will not lead, will not permit America to win. He has stated plainly such. He must be thwarted, his successor must be someone capable of reversing his damage.

Update: The Hidden Cost of Illegal Immigration

There is more to the story, and it continues to get worse, not better. Some details were printed in the local paper, the (Hilton Head ) Island Packet. At the time of his court appearance, the driver of the car announced to officials that he was NOT the man they had named. He now claims that either: he provided his friend’s ID to police at the time of arrest, or they mistakenly used an ID they found. Either way,he has also indicated that he has no social security number, and no available immigration documents. However, in the face of this statement, police are still “checking on his immigration status”. Once such status is determined, what will be done? We will pay for a trial, we will pay for an attorney for this man, we will then, if he is convicted, pay for his incarceration, medical treatment, and mandated care for the duration of his sentence. In effect, the taxpayers will foot the bill for this man for many years.

It seems to me, that most logical, most fair , most sensible thing would be to determine if he is in fact here illegally,then determine his country of origin. Then repatriate him, billing the host country for any incurred costs. But that is merely a pipe dream, isn’t it. I’ll keep you updated on this one.

Reading Between the Lines- Hidden Cost of Illegal Immigration

This weekend, while returning from a high school prom, a high school student was involved in a collision. His car was hit by another, driven by a drunk. The drunk continued on to his home where he was later arrested. The young man is still hospitalized, seriously injured.

Now, this is, all alone a tragic occurrence, one which is unfortunately repeated many times around the country during this time of year. There is a twist to this however, which makes this many times more serious and much more of concern. Let’s examine the details of this particular incident.

The driver of the car, the drunk, who continued on after seriously injuring a young man from Bluffton HIgh School was eventually cited for the following offenses:

…”felony drunken-driving, leaving an accident with great bodily injury, driving without a license, operating an uninsured vehicle and disregarding a traffic signal. His bond had not been set as of Sunday evening.” according to the Island Packet

Ok, why the concern? Why should this be of more interest than any other similar collision. Well, also stated in the report is the following information about Mr. Juan Rodriguez. According to Lt. Bryan Norberg, of the Bluffton Police,”Norberg said he wasn’t sure of Rodriquez’ immigration status.” Well, I wonder why he is unaware. The current wave of political correctness makes it ‘uncomfortable’ for most departments to inquire about the immigration status of criminals. Once the status is determined, then there is the messy question of why this person is still in our country. Note that he has no license, and no other required documents. In the current parlance, it makes him an ‘undocumented driver’ doesn’t it? After all if someone is in the country illegally he is merely an ‘undocumented immigrant’. Let’s put away the pejorative words, the harsh judgementalism which puts those who have invaded our country into nasty ‘categories’ and makes them feel badly.

If our national authorities were properly doing their job, I am willing to wager we would see a great reduction on crime simply by stopping the criminals from entering in the first place. ‘What? you ask ” how do I know they’re criminals?” Well, let’s start at the beginning. In order to get here in the first place they have broken the law to get here!!!.

We probably will not see any follow up stories regarding the ‘uncertain immigration status’ of the driver who fled the scene. There’s no payoff. If the local paper reports that lo and behold, the gentleman in question is here illegally they will have to discuss the immigration issue in a circumstance that puts the ‘undocumented migrants’ in a bad light.

If there is a report that the individual is an ‘undocumented migrant’ then the authorities, from local police, to the state, to the Homeland Security will have to answer why they have permitted invaders to roam unfettered in our country. We have surrendered our borders, and we will continue to pay the price until someone, anyone decides to take steps to take it back. It seems to me that all the various things our Washington Government keeps trying to do such as stealing power, over regulating our lives, and invading our privacy, could be eliminated and replaced with a logical, secure border. The government is NOT doing what the constitution requires, yet it continues to make up non-constitutional things to tax us for and spend our money on. More and more, the obvious conclusion can not be avoided. It’s time to shake things up. It’s time to replace whoever is in power and start again. How, when? Once again, I’m not offering solutions, but at least, I’m not afraid to ask the questions!

The Corruption of Charity and Constitution

OK, this one will take several twists and turns, but I think it’s worth following.

Around the third week of December, 2007, the media in the Low Country of South Carolina locked their attentions on a story. A modern day tragedy, with all the elements of modern melodrama. A youngish couple were on their own, and in dire straits. It seems this couple were expecting quintuplets, and had no resources to help them. Someone from the town council on Lady’s Island even volunteered to translate for them. ( Oh did I not mention, they speak only Spanish?) The father has not worked for more than a year. He claimed to have had a work related accident, and on the advice of an attorney, would not take work now, as it might jeopardize his compensation claims.

The couple is using friends to shuttle them to doctors and other appointments.

The United Way of the Low Country got involved, and the community began to pitch in to help.

Roughly two days after the original story was published in the Beaufort Gazette, and the (Hilton Head) Island Packet, someone commented on the non working father.

He was upset because he knew quite well that the taxpayers of the county would certainly end up paying all the bills for the wilfully unemployed parents, who would apparently do nothing to help themselves. He was severly reprimanded by other readers who scolded him on the merits of “Christian Charity”. How dare he deny them public funds, he was certainly uncharitable, and definitely mean, and probably kicked his dogs too!

This week, more of the facts came to light. It seems that the entire story was a huge lie.

The woman was not, and never was pregnant. To aggravate matters, it appears both may be in the US illegally, and the INS will now investigate. Maybe they might consider sending them home. But, wait, one more wrinkle, now the fake Daddy is claiming to be a minor, a dupe in the whole thing. At least that’s the claim of his attorney, the one representing him in his worker’s comp claim. Remember him: he’s the gem who told his client not to take any more work so as not to jeopardize any potential future workers comp claims.

OK, where to begin? Let’s look at the couple. Neither is working, both apparently illegally in the country. They make an unsubstantiated claim of multiple pregnancy, and no one questions or challenges them. I think someone who claims to be SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT with quintuplets should show, at least a little bit! The local feel good government official even ‘happily translates for them’. Not only unemployed, but absolutely not working, intentionally,and reportedly at the direction of his attorney. They are clearly planning to be wards of the state, sucking on the teat of government largess.

One area resident complains about this and is vilified as “un-Christian” because he would deny them GOVERNMENT aid. Tell me this, when did Jesus say to help the poor among us by seizing property from someone else to give to those the government deems to need it more. Make no mistake, that is exactly what is going on. People go around feeling as if they are doing their “Christian duty” by taxing everyone to pay the bills of those they decide need the money more than the original earners. This is not Christianity, it is Communism! The Government of the USA was formed by a Constitution. It is introduced by a paragraph:


We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Look there, do you see anything that says the purpose of government is to pay for the babies of anyone at all? I see some words about general Welfare, but nothing about individual life styles.

The true Christian would not seek to seize the belongings of another, and turn it to his own use. He would use HIS OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY AND EFFORT to aid those in need. Giving the fruit of someone else’s labor is no sacrifice, it is a token effort, which impoverishes all involved.

That, in the end is the problem with the entire state of affairs currently in existence. We have allowed everyone involved to become corrupted. Those who call themselves Christians are more concerned with feeling good, and looking as if they are helping, while picking the pockets of someone else. The government has become an armed thug, used to enforce compliance with this strong arm robbery, and those who lap at the trough become addicted to all this government cheese, and simply atrophy and no longer even imagine they are capable of supporting themselves. The remaining few who continue to work and produce anything of value, are being worked harder and harder to provide for an ever widening pool of dependents who, they are told, will die without the property the government confiscates and transfers to the non working slugs.

In a better time, someone with a need would actually be helped by their neighbors and family. Now, the local people are so used to having all assistance come from some federal bureaucracy, they cannot even imagine they could be capable of helping someone by themselves. As a people, Americans have been drugged into a stupor. The charitable impulse has been forced to withdraw. The work ethic has been demeaned and weakened nearly to the point of extinction.The benefits of self supporting individuality has been so withered, the few who still work, are not just stolen from, they are derided as evil for producing any wealth at all.

It’s time, maybe past time, for the Constitution to be reinvigorated. The Leviathan which government has become must be tamed. If not,we will surely be crushed under it’s immense weight.

Contradictions, and Constitutions

Does anyone else notice the contradictions:
The Dems have screamed since the Bush tax cuts, hell, the Reagan tax cuts, hell…. even the JFK tax cuts that cutting taxes will slow growth, and hurt the little guy, since only the “super rich” get a break.
Now, it’s election time, and Pelosi, and Reid,and the rest of the pack of socialists are all for Tax rebates… in other words, CUTTING TAXES to stimulate the economy.

Or,
On the border of Gaza and Egypt, the Palestinians have blown holes in the fence that separates them, causing a mass migration of Palestinians into Egypt, looking for food, housing, and refuge.
Egyptian military forces are deployed to protect their borders, and prevent illegal crossings into their nation.
Now, I thought it was a violation of human rights to do anything to prevent free movement of peoples from one country into another when they are suffering from economic deprivations. When the US attempts to enforce our laws and prevent illegal migration and violation of our sovereignty and the status of our nation’s borders, we are hooted down, called racists, and evil. Egypt has had just such a wall, apparently for years. When we merely deploy National Guardsmen with no offensive capacity, we are called murderers, even in the face of paramilitary attacks, and probably, but technically unproved, direct attacks by the military of the Mexican nation.
Egypt is portrayed as victims, who must act swiftly to protect their territorial integrity from invasion by the Palestinians. ( not so noble this time, are they?)
2. I thought that only the Israelis were evil enough to box in the Noble Palestinians, and it is the fault of the Zionist entity that they are starving, homeless, deprived, what have you.
3. When Israel proposed a wall/fence to prevent the infiltration of their nation by terrorists from Gaza, they were deemed to be creating a ‘new holocaust’. But it seems that Egypt has had just such a border wall for years, with no outcry at all.
I for one am tired of the crap, and hypocrisy from not only the UN crowd, but the left even within our own country.
WHO will stand up and say ENOUGH! Someone needs to do just that, someone from our own government. If not, then someone from the People will do it for them, and that day will be a dangerous day for our nation. It may well be the beginning of the unraveling of this Noble Experiment in government. We are allowing our country to be run not by our representatives, but by gangs of bureaucrats and civil servants from departments, and advisory boards, to the famous NGO’s ( non governmental organizations).

The USA has moved steadily to align with the UN, now our own countrymen are condemning us in international forums to earn praise and glory at the expense of our nation. Non legislative organizations make regulations, rather than legislators making laws. This gives them power unchecked by any constitutional authority. The elected legislators cede their power and responsibility to the K street gang, then offer to help their constituents by interceding on their behalf. Of course this comes, as always with an implied price. ” Well, I helped you with that board, or commission, so now I expect your vote, and your generous campaign contribution to help me get reelected. Once back in office, they work swiftly to create another ‘Blue Ribbon Panel” to do the work they are unwilling to do, so their fingerprints are never on anything that might come back to haunt them. They create crisis after crisis, demanding action, immediately to forestall the lurking danger. Then they surrender more and more authority to extra- and trans-national bodies so once more they can say they are not responsible, but for a small contribution to reelection, will gladly help with your problem.

I hate to say it, but I can’t see a way out. Can you?

What’s the answer? Is there one? Or are we finally at the point of exhaustion of our Republic. ( for those who have been educated by the Teachers Union Monopoly, that’s our original and legal form of government. WE ARE NOT A DEMOCRACY, no matter what the idiots in the media say. Even if your eighth grade ‘social studies’ teacher said we are a democratic system, we are not there …YET.

I fear that we will be, and soon. When that happens, will you be ready to surrender all your rights which the Constitution had guaranteed the government would never take?

The Border

Thoughts on the border crisis…
The government of the U.S. has done nothing substantial as far as the border, of that, I think we can all surely agree. I would like to randomly muse on this topic and some points. When it comes to police forces we have an abundance. When it comes to traffic enforcement, we have that in spades. I was brought up on Andy Griffith and thought that was what police were. These days it’s revenue generation, busting college parties, ticketing speeders, nailing people for “felony taglight violations” (I kid you not, this is police humor) and how many police are allotted for traffic versus other non-revenue based service? Keep that thought humming while I shift gears.

So, we have the border that resembles, in my mind, a colander (aka strainer) being used to hold water. We know we have a problem. We even have evidence of Mexican military crossing our border. Why is this unchecked? Go back to the police model of today. Revenue generation, versus no revenue. It is more profitable, less time and energy to ticket your average speeder. Now lets not forget safer, both physically, and LEGALLY. A perfect case study in America hamstringing it’s own security is that deputy that barely missed getting run over by illegals(http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54379) and when defensively fired his pistol, was prosecuted.

Revenue, hmmm, is that why we prefer to prosecute Americans for drugs yet all the while allowing drugs to be escorted into the country by armed Mexican military? So instead of handling things, we bait and switch. “War on Drugs”, a sham if we don’t cut the supply. Bait and switch? How about the war on terror and security “for American safety” but a porous border with 70 Americans kidnapped by Mexicans. All this from the border in one year. How many Americans were kidnapped by Saddam? This is not necessarily an anti-war statement, just a point I consider pertinent since we are talking American safety.

The “minuteman project” is a prelude and led me to a somewhat far reaching theory, though more credible to me every day. A theory is that citizens will take things into their own hands and retaliate. Some will seek to only defend, some will become vigilantes, and some will teeter precariously close to the very thing they despise, the American version of Mexican gang like activity and declare gang war on them. Unfortunately, if our government won’t come to our aid, perhaps they will come to the border for peacekeeping. Soon the border may be past boiling point.

One final thought, could this be anticipated? Expected even? I ask myself why the US government is contemplating giving advanced audio (listening devices), optics (night and thermal vision), and other equipment to Mexico to police their side of the border. Mexican military escorts of drug runners,(http://www.kvoa.com/Global/story.asp?S=4391092)(http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43754) (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,182650,00.html) fully equipped with night vision, has been reported. Mexican military vehicles crossing the border armed… Could we be better equipping Mexico in anticipation of civilian response to the threat our government refuses to deal with directly? Or do we believe our government is actually daft enough to think the Mexicans will break with current trends, and actually use the equipment to police the border on their side?
