Paris Burns: DC Remains Too Cool

Posted by revkharma on November 16, 2015

Paris is burning, and DC is chilly. We have seen a well planned, well executed and devastating attack in Paris. Islamic fanatics have killed scores and it appears to be a direct result of the plans and achievements of the leaders of the West.
“Refugees” from Syria, and radicalized Europeans have struck in the heart of France with bloody results.
In the US, reaction is mixed. Our president has resolutely refused to change course, with his administration standing firm in their plans to import tens of thousands of those very same refugees.
After years of minimizing the role of ISIS, and refusing to even say ‘Islamic Terror’ President Obama on Friday, the day of the massacre, was quoted once more with noted ignorance, claiming that ISIS was now contained, and not a growing threat. At the gathering of world leaders, the American president was noticeably late for the formal gathering for a memorial moment of silence to honor the dead from the ISIS assault.
Even today, when pressed by media, President Obama has steadfastly refused to respond forcefully, with this the most telling exchange:

“CNN’s Jim Accosta said…’I guess the question is, and if you’ll forgive the language is”Why can’t we take out these bastards”?
Obama scoffed at the question: “What I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of ‘American Leadership’ or America winning’ He said firmly”

Via Breitbart

This, then is pretty decisive and clear. This man, the president of the USA is NOT interested in victory by America.

Immediately following the attacks, Obama announced that he was releasing five Yemeni prisoners from Guantanamo, including the man who was Osama Bin Laden’s body guard. He appears bent on  showing he cares more for Islamists than Americans.
Why is this? What can possibly be the answer?

Our president has sometimes been portrayed as being an islamist. He has denounced those who have questioned his Christian credentials. Recall the scrambling to rephrase and reframe this famous quote in an interview with George Stephanopolis, where he responded to a question with an answer about ” My Muslim Faith” ?  If in fact, Obama had been raised as a Muslim by his father, then later in life he became Christian, then according to the Sharia law, he is an apostate. If this were the case, he would be subject to death by true believers.  As it happens, there have not been calls for his death for this crime.  Yet he continues to show more concern for defaming Islam than defending Christianity.
Answers range from his leftist upbringing, racialist philosophy, to Al Taqiyya.
But, in truth, the answers are irrelevant. The truth, the facts, are plain enough. As long as he is in command, Obama will not lead, will not permit America to win. He has stated plainly such. He must be thwarted, his successor must be someone capable of reversing his damage.
Keep the Faith!

The Vanquished Powers Were Glad

Posted by revkharma on August 12, 2014

As the Obama Administration muddles through one more vacation, they take some military action which is completely representative of the entire regime and it’s mindset.

In a story posted to Stars And Stripes Lt. General William Mayville says the following:

“We assess that U.S. airstrikes in northern Iraq have slowed ISIL’s operational tempo and temporarily disrupted their advances toward the province of Irbil. However, these strikes are unlikely to affect ISIL’s overall capabilities or its operation in other areas of Iraq and Syria,”

So, we will send our military to make lots of noise and flash, but the administration knows, in advance that is all for appearance, and no long term effect. They seem to believe that there are no real enemies which require engagement and long term attention.

Time and again this regime ‘pivots’ and applies a ‘laser like focus’ to a new issue, a new geopolitical crisis, only to move on once the headlines shrink away and the network cameras are pointed into another direction.

They believe their own hype, and are confident that we are in a ‘post-modern’ world. The US secretary of state blusters that the Russian leadership simply will stop, because ‘One simply does not do that in the twenty first century’.

You see, they just know more, they are better, they are undeniably more moral than any previous administration, or the hoi polloi over which they must rule.

Obama and his team simply imagine  because they think it, because they want it, the world will bend to conform to their statements and judgments. ISIS is ‘The JV team’ and not worth attention.

Syria will comply with Obama’s demands, because they simply must.

This regime believes their own hype and acts as if all the evil in the world will stop merely because they will it. They act as if there are no bad actors on the world state, and if only John Kerry can get a ‘sit down’ then every tyrant and dictator will see the inherent wisdom of his words and follow the lead of Obama the Great and Powerful.

Recently I came across something written by WH Auden, which I think poetically reflects my thoughts better than my ramblings above.

So an age ended, and its last deliverer died
In bed, grown idle and unhappy; they were safe:
The sudden shadow of a giant’s enormous calf
Would fall no more at dusk across their lawns outside.

They slept in peace: in marshes here and there no doubt
A sterile dragon lingered to a natural death,
But in a year the slot had vanished from the heath;
A kobold’s knocking in the mountain petered out.

Only the sculptors and the poets were half-sad,
And the pert retinue from the magician’s house
Grumbled and went elsewhere. The vanquished powers were glad

To be invisible and free; without remorse
Struck down the silly sons who strayed into their course,
And ravished the daughters, and drove the fathers mad.

We cannot simply ignore evil, it will not vanish simply because we ‘don’t believe in it anymore’.

Another shorter quote which I also believe is appropriate  may be more familiar.

In the words of Louis XV:

Après moi, le déluge

Dopes… the government is full of DOPES!!!

Posted by revkharma on July 31, 2014

I will guess, however, that this will not get much media coverage.

Allison Lundergran Grimes running for senate from Kentucky. (Guess which party has nominated her)
She was asked something about the current conflict between Hamas and Israel.  She said this, she really did.

“The Iron Dome has been a big reason why Israel has been able to withstand the terrorists that have tried to tunnel their way in,” Grimes was quoted as saying.

Perhaps as bad, it appears no one from the Lexington Herald Leader, the paper which interviewed her, bothered to correct or even notice her dopiness.

Just Watch the Right Distort Obama’s Guantanamo/al-Qaeda Remarks

Posted by brotherkharma on January 6, 2010

Warning – This is long (for me), meandering, and quite possibly incoherent. Please do not mistake this for an official White House briefing or proposed legislation.

It is amazing to me, although I thought I was finished being shocked by the left.  I Googled the phrase “Obama’s Guantanamo/al-Qaeda remarks” and it took me 10 minutes to find the actual remarks.  I had to search Whitehouse.gov to find the text of the speech.  All that came up on Google (at least the first 2 pages – which is all my attention span will allow me to look through) was the same silly blog being reposted all over the place.  The blog was “Just Watch the Right Distort Obama’s Guantanamo/al-Qaeda Remarks”.  They claim the President was saying Guantanamo was a propaganda and recruiting tool, and that the right has begun to twist his words.  The same way the head of Homeland Security had her words twisted by being quoted?  Maybe the same way Supreme Court nominees have their words twisted, by repeating them in their entirety with contextual explanation?   Now I’ll grant them that President Obama said:

“For over seven years, we have detained hundreds of people at Guantanamo…. There is also no question that Guantanamo set back the moral authority that is America’s strongest currency in the world.  Instead of building a durable framework for the struggle against al Qaeda that drew upon our deeply held values and traditions, our government was defending positions that undermined the rule of law.  …. Meanwhile, instead of serving as a tool to counter terrorism, Guantanamo became a symbol that helped al Qaeda recruit terrorists to its cause.  Indeed, the existence of Guantanamo likely created more terrorists around the world than it ever detained.”

The problem is he said that in May, 2009.  What he said in January of 2010 was:

“But make no mistake:  We will close Guantanamo prison, which has damaged our national security interests and become a tremendous recruiting tool for al Qaeda.  In fact, that was an explicit rationale for the formation of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.  And, as I’ve always said, we will do so — we will close the prison in a manner that keeps the American people safe and secure.”

Now the phrase “explicit rationale for the formation of al Qaeda” seems to my untrained ears to mean the reason they are there.  If he wanted to say Guantanamo helped them recruit or helped raise sympathy in the Islamic world, I think he would have said it like that.  You know, the way he did in May.  Both speeches do a lot to tell you his mind set in dealing with this threat.  Following the “explicit rationale” comments, he went into detail on how he will address security.  The President warns us that al Qaeda is “constantly evolving and adapting their efforts to strike us”.  The White House site also says what I hope is a typo: “As they refine our tactics, we’ll enhance our defenses”.  People tell me I am overly critical of the President on this issue, so here I am going to rush to his side.  He did not mean that al Qaeda is refining our tactics! They are not wondering into the White House, uninvited, and offering their opinions.  I mean, no one gets in there like that!  The President promises us “smarter screening and security at airports, and investing in the technologies that might have detected the kind of explosives used on Christmas”.  Well, I am willing to help my country.  I have an old laptop that is kind of slow, a little buggy, and needs an external keyboard attached to it, but it can run e-mail, a web browser, and word.  I will happily provide this 21st Century anti-terror technology to the TSA so they can see if someone on multiple watch lists, buying a one way ticket in cash the day of the flight without a valid passport should be searched as thoroughly as I was the 3rd time I flew round trip from Philly to Colorado Springs in the same month.

In May, he really laid down the gauntlet.  In that speech he stated “We are indeed at war with al Qaeda and its affiliates”.  Hoo-rah! (Can’t you just hear R. Lee screaming that out maggot?) He followed it up with the caution on how to prosecute this war.  “But we must do so with an abiding confidence in the rule of law and due process; in checks and balances and accountability.”  Hoo-hah!

I don’t recall FDR demanding lawyers and checks and balances to combat the Nazi threat.  I do not recall a stirring speech to Congress promising to bring Admiral Yamamoto to justice.  I have spoken to many WWII vets, none of whom have ever issued a Miranda warning on the battlefield. But wait, he leans on some quasi historical precedent.  “…the decisions that were made over the last eight years established an ad hoc legal approach for fighting terrorism that was neither effective nor sustainable — a framework that failed to rely on our legal traditions and time-tested institutions…” .  Can anyone tell me what war the US waged with a reliance on “our legal traditions and time-tested institutions”?  The American Revoloution? No.  Civil War? Hmmmm, nope.  Either World War?  Don’t think so.  Wait!  I have it.  The closest we came was in Vietnam.  That’s the model we want to follow, right?

Well, if that didn’t strike fear in the hearts of our enemies, they did it today.  They revoked the Visa of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the man who tried to blow up 300 people on Christmas day.  12 days later, they revoked his visa.  The Administration is sending a STRONG Clear statement!  If you are a failed terrorist, we don’t want you here!  And Gitmo, which of course is the main reason that al-Qaeda flourishes on the Arabian Peninsula, will ABSOLUTELY be closed!  Sometime.  Soon.  Probably. We think, just don’t send them to Yemen.  Or to Illinois because we can’t afford to buy lights and a new fence at the vacant state prison – fiscal responsibility is part of the new change in Washington remember!

Now there are some who will point to the cooperation of the Yemen government as evidence that Obama is gaining support around the world.  It might seem like the approach to this as a legal issue and closure of Gitmo has garnered support in the Middle East.  However, let’s take a deeper look.  Since 2001, US military, not prosecutors, have driven the Taliban into the mountains.  They have ripped Saddam from power and wrought havoc on the terror organizations that attempted to move into Iraq.  The war was pushed away from our shores and towards the heart of Islamofascism.  But why the sudden support of Yemen?  There has also been support of the Saudis, who have launched air strikes against al-Qaeda on the Saudi/Yemeni border.  In August of 2009, for the first time in decades, there was an attempted assassination of a member of the Saudi Royal Family.  Al-Qaeda sent a suicide bomber tried to kill Prince Muhammad bin Nayef, assistant interior minister for security affairs, in his palace in Jeddah.  Somehow I think this is far more likely to cause Saudi and Yemeni cooperation than a guarantee that someday Gitmo will close and the threat to deport every failed terrorist.

BTW – if anyone is still reading this, I feel sorry for you but wanted you to know one more thing.  The reason I gave it the title I did was to hopefully get it in the mix of those other brain dead blogs that made me go on this rant.  Have a nice day and go J-E-T-S-Jets Jets JETS!!!!

Look Away, Ignore The Man Behind The Curtain. ( again)

Posted by revkharma on July 16, 2009

There is so much smoke and mirrors, we never know where to look. When something truly important is happening, most of the people in this nation are too distracted to see what’s going on. This is by design. If the people who paid the bills knew what they were paying for, they would be outraged.

The most recent examples:

A couple of weeks ago, all media attention was focused on the ‘Michael Jackson Funeral’ seemingly the most important news on the planet. While that was covered end to end, all the 24 hour news channels wall to wall, the house slammed a  thousand page ‘climate change’ Cap and Trade bill through with barely a comment from anyone. At the last moment, a three hundred page amendment was also put in place. This contained payoff money to just enough legislators to buy their complicity in robbing their constituents.
In fact, the ‘bill’ that was voted on did not actually exist. There was no single printed version of ANYTHING. But this momentous legislation was forced through with little notice.
This week we have the glorious spectacle of ‘hearings’ into the nomination of a clearly radical jurist to the Supreme Court of the United States. We are focused on her ‘Wise Latina’ quote. All the supposed ‘right wing’ media are screaming about that. All attention is on that throw away line. With barely a few sentences this canard can be dismissed and ignored. Then the legal geniuses like Lindsay ‘Grahamnesty’ from South Carolina can agree that barring a ‘meltdown’ he will vote to confirm her. After all, she’s not really a racist or a bigot. That would be the worst possible thing we could do to the Supreme Court.

The real issue is her appeal to international law to drive the Supreme Court.  IN Roper v. Simmons, and Lawrence v. Texas:

Judge Sotomayor said, the court was using the foreign or international law to “help us understand what the concepts meant to other countries and . . . whether our understanding of our own constitutional rights fell into the mainstream of human thinking.

Another dangerous area will be Second Amendment law. Judge Sotomayor, has generally found the right to bear arms is NOT a fundamental right. Legally this view holds that such rights do not pre-exist the Constitution, and thus can be regulated. In a ruling in a NY case about martial arts weapons, her ruling displayed such views. From Volokh,  here are details:

In other words, the Second Amendment is not “a fundamental right.” The Sotomayor panel could have offered a legal explanation for why (in the panel’s opinion) nunchaku are not “arms” within the meaning of the Second Amendment, and therefore a mere rational basis test for nunchaku bans is appropriate. But the Sotomayor court did not do so. To the contrary, the Sotomayor per curiam opinion treats any Second Amendment claim as not involving “a fundamental right.”

broadly held internationalist theory, combined with her incredibly restrictive views on the Second Amendment it is clear the real danger is not her views on ‘wise latina’s’ but her views on the US Constitution. But we will not hear much discussion of that. Once more we are told where to look, lest we see the freight train headed our way.

As important as that is, even THIS is something of a distraction.
While we watch the dog and pony show in the Senate committee room, the house and senate are once more ramming a bill through. This time it is to alter finally and fundamentally the economic liberty of every American. The takeover of our health care system by the federal government will be a complete alteration of the political and economic system of the USA. Once the Federal Government is installed as the guarantor and arbiter of each individuals medical care, we will cease to be actual citizens, and will become subjects. The level of control which can be exerted on an individual when the government controls the payment for and allocation of all medical treatment is beyond comprehension. There is no area of life which cannot conceivably be regulated by the government in the ‘interest of controlling medical costs.’ Everything from the food you eat to the job you hold, to your after hours hobbies can affect your health. If a central federal authority is ‘paying for your health care’ it can regulate, and dictate any and all activities which impact that cost, as it is now a federal interest. By legislating mandatory participation, they can then legislate mandatory regulation.
But the news is watching the Sotomayor hearings.
Funny how that works out, isn’t it.
We are about to– no we have ALREADY run off the rails. We are not the same country I grew up in.

Tough Week, Or: Obie Charms The World Once More

Posted by revkharma on May 31, 2009

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks in the world. And of course, our leader, the Great and Powerful Obama has been right there, in the thick of things, saving the world.  Let’s have a look around and see what’s been done.

First of all Pres. Obama has continued to strengthen ties with our key allies.  His press spokesman spoke movingly of the integrity of the British press, and in return they lauded praise upon him. After all, we all have been told over and over that “The Europeans Love Obama” and that will make it so much easier for him to solve the problems of the world. Here’s how Mr. Gibbs discussed the British Press:

I want to speak generally about some reports I’ve witnessed over the past few years in the British media. And in some ways, I’m surprised it filtered down,” Gibbs began. “Let’s just say if I wanted to look up — if I wanted to read a writeup today of how Manchester United fared last night in the Champion’s League cup, I might open up a British newspaper. If I was looking for something that bordered on truthful news, I’m not entirely sure it’d be in the first pack of clips I’d pick up.”

“You’re not going to find very many of these newspapers and truth within 25 words of each other,” Gibbs continued.

Of course, this was all just taken in jest, as The Great and Powerful Obama is adored all over the globe. Here is an example of the adulatory response generated by his hilarious spokesman’s comments:

For all its talk of “raising America’s standing” in the world after the Bush years, the  Obama administration is doing a spectacularly bad job of reaching out to its allies. Unfortunately this is the new face of America’s public diplomacy, which will only serve to alienate public opinion across the Atlantic. Congratulations Gibbs – you’ve just made an enemy out of the entire British media, quite an achievement for the man in charge of selling the President’s message.

Yes, he’s building great relationships, and making great decisions all the time. And he’s SOO on top of everything too. We know, for example that he is brilliant. After all, he taught ‘Con law’ and was graduated from Harvard right? His brilliant brain holds so much information. Recall that he has promised to review the federal budget “line by line’ and eliminate any and all wasteful spending. He must know everything there is to know about the government and administration of the United States.  But, then what about all those pesky intelligence and information divisions? How’s THIS for brilliance? While  once more taking the ever vigilant press corps out to lunch at yet another swanky burger joint, our Commander in Chief met someone who works for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. He apparently had absolutely no idea what it is, or that it’s part of the Defense Department charged with developing and interpreting vital satellite imagery for the military and intelligence communities.

Obama: So explain to me exactly what this National Geospatial…uh…
Walter: Uh, we work with, uh, satellite imagery..
Obama: Right
Walter: [unintelligible] …support systems, so…
Obama: Sounds like good work.
Walter: Enjoy the weekend.
Obama: Appreciate it.

Ok, so we see how totally brilliant and on top of things our president is regarding the internal workings of the government he says he will run with total control and dedication. How about international affairs with other than Europeans who adore and worship him. ( We see the great affection he’s generated in Britain) How about our critical ally in the Middle East. The Great and Powerful Obama had a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Mr. Netanyahu has been there, done that. He organized a commando squad that fought for the survival of their nation while our President Organized communities.  They had their private meeting where it was anticipated the Great Obama would use his charm to persuade Mr. Netanyahu to go along with plans to meet and talk nice with the various Palestinian and Arab groups which seek to exterminate Bibi’s nation and people. Apparently things did not go the way Obie planned.  The traditional post meeting press conference was a gold mine for students of body language. The leader of the Free World sat stiffly, never glancing at his guest once during the questioning and recounting of their ‘frank discussion’.  He stammered and dodged any questions of substance. Meanwhile, Israel’s leader sat stoically, staring directly at his chastened  counterpart. His body language was more like that of a boxer during a pre-fight press conference looking at the latest tomato can put in front of him before he can fight for the title.  Clearly, he knew he had to put this man in his place. At this point the policy of the United States in the Levant is reduced to something akin to begging that if they decide to go to war against Iran, would they please at least think of calling and telling us before they win so we can claim some credit.

The campaign is long over, yet Obama continues to pepper his policy speeches with finger pointing and blame fixing. ” We didn’t mess this up, the guy before us did it!’  ” We inherited a mess, and we’re not sure what to do yet”. As he is confronted with the reality of events in his role as President of The United States Mr. Obama has begun to shrink and step away from any engagement.  Nations and world leaders are not the same thing as small community groups pleading for someone to help them out. He simply cannot vote ‘present’ when a true crisis emerges.

Look to the latest fire burning on the world stage in Asia.  The ever agreeable  Comrade Kim decided that talks with the ‘multilateral group’ were not progressing as fast as he wished. So, to increase the spirit of community he set off a nuke and began firing missiles in all directions. He warned the US and South Korea not to ‘provoke him’. Of course this brought swift and decisive action. The Secretary of State of the United States thundered with anger that such actions would surely bring about some serious consequences. Not to be outdone, the UN, that wellspring of decisive action offered to print a statement that would say stern words to the Norks, and might even consider discussing the possibility of potentially increasing sanctions on the already crushingly impoverished nation.

In response to all these  terrifying threats  Crazy Kim Jong Il  puts on a new pair of designer shades and shouts something that translates roughly as : ” Booga Booga BOOGA” and everyone in the world backs up a couple of steps because he’s so scary. Except of course the incredibly calm and reasonable Achmedinajad in Iraq, who inches closer and says, ” Please, please can I have some too!” Kim is not merely making threats, he’s poking a stick in the eyes of the ‘multilateral nations’ and seeing if they will take it away from him or let him sharpen it and try again.  The thing to remember is that in Iran they are watching to see what happens. If Kim and his sunglasses are allowed to bask in the nuclear glow with no restrictions, then Achmedinijad will put on a brand new ‘Members Only’ jacket and set off his own fire crackers knowing that no one has the stones to do anything about it. Once  he opens the throttle it will signal the beginning of a mad race throughout all the other regimes in the area. The various Arab chieftains would all want their own personal glow in the dark kits to balance out the ‘Twelvers’ in Tehran. Mahmoud the Mad in sole possession of nukes in the Middle East is as much a nightmare for the Syrians and Saudis as it would be for the US.  he might just decide it’s time to shake things up for real so his favorite hidden teen age Imam can emerge from some well hidden in the badlands of Iraq and restore the ‘peaceful and beautiful’  rule of his particular flavor of Shiite Islam upon the burning embers of  the post nuke dust that remains.

Boy, I sure am glad that we have such an engaged and powerful leader in the White house right now. He’s done so much to calm things.  Maybe next week he can take the North Koreans out for burgers, maybe that will fix things. After all, why can’t we all just get along?

Keep the Faith!

Guns, Mexico and the DHS report

Posted by revkharma on April 17, 2009

Again and again we hear the representatives of our government, from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to the President apologizing to Mexico for causing the problems south of the border. It is ‘our fault’ with our boundless appetites for drugs, and of course for providing “90% of all weapons” used by the narco-terrorists in Mexico. If only we could stop our be-knighted citizens from wanting these death dealing weapons,  they would not be available at ‘gun shops along the border’ and the drug lords would be disarmed. See, it’s not the fault of the weak and corrupt Mexican government, nor of the hundreds of Mexicans who desert their posts in the army and join the well armed gangs. It’s the fault of the American Second Amendment and those of us who still cling bitterly to our guns and bibles.

This week, in a short visit to Mexico, President Obama found one more foreign stop to denigrate America, and to grovel to a foreign leader to beg forgiveness for America’s transgressions.

From the NY Times:

The Obama administration had already pledged to send more agents to patrol the border with Mexico and more helicopters to Mexico. But on Thursday the president went a step further, announcing that he would press the Senate to ratify the long-stalled inter-American arms treaty, which the United States had a major hand in negotiating through the Organization of American States.

The Mexican President discussed the problem, claiming the US as the source of all his country’s trouble:

But while the two pledged their “shared responsibility” in the drug wars during a news conference here, they seemed to diverge on the issue of the assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004. Mr. Calderón said nearly 90 percent of the weapons seized in Mexico could be traced to the United States, adding that organized crime increased after the ban expired.

Now, in recent weeks, Pres Obama has repeated over and over to US media that he will not seek a reintroduction of the assault ban. However in reply to President Calderon:

Mr. Obama campaigned on a platform of renewing it, but he suggested Thursday that reviving the ban was politically impossible because of opposition from gun enthusiasts. “None of us are under any illusion that reinstating that ban would be easy,” Mr. Obama said, while insisting he was “not backing off at all” from his conviction that renewing the ban made sense.

(italics mine)

So, with the government of Mexico in a state of collapse, much of the country controlled by drug gangs, armed with weapons, equipment and even the soldiers of the Mexican Army, the president of the United States goes to Mexico and says it’s all the fault of American Citizens. Curious isn’t it?

Meanwhile Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security Secretary released a report advising US law enforcement to be on the lookout for American citizens who think taxes are too high, abortion is wrong, visit gun ranges or have just left the military. They are the real danger, according to the report.

Despite criticism from both outside and inside government, Ms. Napolitano has stood firmly behind her report, stating that she remembers Timothy McVeigh, and so the report is justified. I guess she forgets the Saudi Islamoterrorists from 9/11 as her memory skips back to 1994. One deranged American is a source of law enforcement attention, but an entire ideology bent on our destruction is now to be called ‘Man caused destruction’ instead of Terrorism.

Take a step back, and look at all of this. Obama has consistently been a ‘blame America First’ politician. When pressed he has moderated his rhetoric, but never deviated from his path.  He has joined with his Attorney General, Eric Holder, to condemn us intelligence and military interrogators as torturers, even while saying they should not be prosecuted. The left wing of the Democrat party has always been about self perpetuation and maintaining power.  While the focus of attention is on external threats, Americans tend to draw together to unite to oppose a common enemy. Such was the case in the aftermath of 9/11. However as soon as some distance  made it possible, the left began to push for a return to a pre 9/11 mentality.

That focus is now inward. As President Obama and his international representatives scurry around the globe, condemning not those who have commited such acts, but America for somehow causing others to WANT to do so, they create a certainty that America is no longer prepared to stop our adversaries. As they blame the US, they must then, logically take steps to prevent a repeat. So,we skip over 9/11, and focus on McVeigh, and such events as Columbine high school, the attention of the bovine media will shift. Instead of being forced to call Americans ‘Heroes’ as they fight and die to save  us, they will be able once more find fault with Americans.

Law enforcement can be twisted, as Homeland Security now controlled by ‘open borders’ advocates will focus on creating domestic demons to fight. More and more we will see criminals conjured from the ranks of the law abiding. Those who maintain that the Constitution is the Law of the Land will be ridiculed and attacked. Free speech will be redefined as hate speech. We are seeing the opening salvo of a fundamental attack. The fact that even in the face of outright criticism Ms. Napolitano has stood firm shows that this is not a mistaken policy paper. They are moving. Concerned patriotic Americans need to stand firm, and speak out against this.

Keep the Faith!

Are They That Stupid? Or Is This The Real Agenda?

U.S.  Treasury Secretary, and admitted tax cheat Timothy Geithner said in an interview that he is not opposed, in principle to the Chinese proposal to create a new international currency to replace the US Dollar in all international trade.

“We’re actually quite open to that suggestion – you should see it as rather evolutionary rather building on the current architecture rather than moving us to global monetary union,” he said.

Now we need to be clear here, that what the Chinese are talking about ( and recently the Russians also proposed) is a “Reserve Currency” and not a global dollar of sorts. However, by directly stating that they wish to replace the current standard, the US Dollar, the world economic leaders are tacitly acknowledging the frail state of the US economy, and the continued decline of the power of the US Treasury to lead in economic affairs. Our currency has become so overinflated that is now teetering on the edge of worthlessness.

While The Great and Powerful Obama has insisted that he inherited a huge deficit, he in fact has done more by himself than any other president to damage our economic future. According to US Rep Michelle Bachman (R-MN) the debt to be created in the first two months of the Obama administration is greater than that of all other U.S. Presidents before him combined.  Pause a moment here.   Let that sink in. Add up the debt burden from George Washington through George W. Bush, and the total is still less than that incurred by our current administration.

Next add in the dire predictions he made of economic collapse. Then the new stakes of his planned takeover of the us private sector.  This begins to look less and less like a stumbling reeling neophyte and more and more like some sort of Manchurian Candidate.

Congo town proves personal defense is a personal responsibility

Posted by deaconkharmafuture1 on February 13, 2009

{from The Deacon}

I have been on other projects and efforts but I had to make a brief return from obscurity to draw attention to this tidbit. ”  Congo town mounts own defense against rebels.” I actually got a little welled up at this (from mixed anger and pride) today when I read it. A people left to die horribly, by those professing to have their interest at heart, prevailed and really thumbed their noses at these effete snobs. UN “aide workers” and “security forces”, both who provided nothing their names would indicate, were said to be, quote watching the phenomenon with trepidation.” (Notice I highlighted “watching”) Further, they said that they quote  “fear these self-defense groups could transform into a menacing force”. I have a significant and rare level of distaste for these indescribable elitists that think they know better what you need, want, or deserve,. The villagers, however, said “we deserve life and will live, regardless of your uninvolved and useless opinion”. Today, they are alive but would not be, were they still awaiting those who were “watching with trepidation”. Once again, people taking care of their own, is shown with glaring certitude to be more feasible than any police-force or peace-keeping force. Once again, it proves what we and our Founding Fathers knew all along. The right of a people to defend themselves is God given. Furthermore, no man should ever deem themselves wise enough to question or hold in contempt those rights granted by God. It proves to those who claim to be defenders of life and freedom, that the only ones who can be guaranteed to be there when the situation dictates, are the ones already there. I hope we all can learn something from the Congo. From the Warsaw Ghetto, the African Congo, or the American colonies, we see time and again that a people determined to resist can make a difference. Had the UN, The Nazi’s, or the Crown had their way, these groups would all have been disarmed for their convenient destruction. I hope we remember this, the next time someone comes for our rights. I fear it will be sooner than we think. And to the brave people of the Congo: I am so proud of a people who, told by both sides to lie down and die like cattle, said to both, “no”.

Addendum:

Yet another region shows that armed citizenry can protect itself. Flying in the face of this is the constant disarmament attempts by UN and other officials. You must, if any logic is within you, begin to ask why do they REALLY so want to disarm people. Why, when time and again and well over the number of sensasionalized bad occurances, firearms are used for good.

Print ISLAMABAD —  Armed residents repelled an attempt by Taliban militants to expand their reach in Pakistan’s Swat Valley as foreign aid for refugees fleeing an army offensive in the northwestern region passed $200 million, officials said.

The attempted infiltration in Kalam indicated insurgents are feeling pinched by an army offensive and are seeking new shelter, while the local resistance suggested growing public confidence in an anti-Taliban operation supported by the United States.

Fifty Taliban fighters tried to enter Kalam, but that residents gathered quickly Wednesday to fight them off, Deputy Mayor Shamshad Haqqai told The Associated Press. Residents of Kalam captured eight militants during a shootout and were expecting another attack, Haqqai said.
We will not allow Taliban to come here,” he said. Kalam, a town in the far north of the valley, has about 50,000 residents and has so far remained beyond Taliban control.—

I wonder if the UN was watching this one (much like the congo town that defended itself) “with trepidation” too?

Once again, chalk one up to folks defending their homes and having the means to do so.

Questions That Bothered Him So

Posted by revkharma on February 13, 2009

An old Jimmy Buffett song has a coda, with the following words:

“…lookin for answers
To questions that bothered him so “

Lately there have been so many different things going on, that those lyrics came to mind. I have so many questions. Here are a few thoughts, and some questions that are certainly bothering me:

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”– Raum Emanuel, Chief of Staff for the Great and Powerful Obama

The Great and Powerful Obama recently said the following, during one of his regular radio addresses:

“…if we don’t move swiftly to put this plan in motion, our economic crisis could become a national catastrophe.

Now we have been regaled with tales of woe and misery to follow should we not kneel and submit more and more of our free market economy, and thus our lives to be ruled by Obama and his pals in congress. Nancy Pelosi, the Hag from San Fran essentially composed the bill in secret. Harry Reid did the same in the Senate. Eventually there was a “Compromise committee” to work out the differences. They did things like strip out the ‘e-verify’ provisions, thus allowing illegal immigrants to obtain money to help us out of our crisis.

I can’t shake the feeling that this entire thing is simply a great big smoke screen. The tax cheating Treasury secretary pretends to explain his plan, gives an outline worthy of Abbott and Costello, and the stock market tanks again. Then we are told the crisis is worse than we thought, and of course the solution has got to be more government.

Not just more government, but more of their kind of government. Little noticed in the shriek and shout over the ‘stimulus bill’ is a bill introduced into the house.  House resolution 5, introduced Jan 6 by Jose Serrano of NY looks repeal the 22nd Amendment. This will repeal presidential term limits. Imagine how much fun the Great and Powerful Obama could have if he could be elected to four terms, like his hero FDR?

Remember, this is the crowd who condemned GW Bush for running up the deficit. ( And I don’t disagree with that criticism either!) But now, with a single bill they are preparing to DOUBLE the projected deficit for the current fiscal year. They have their strategic partners in the pliant media take to the airwaves and tell us how “this is as bad as the Great Depression”. The next breath emerges with prescriptions to cure the disease of deficits with …MORE DEFICITS!. Imagine this, you have run up your credit cards, and now have some steep payments coming due. You owe $1000.00 in payments, and have $50.00 in your check book. How do you solve the problem? Easy, advance an extra grand from your credit cards to pay the credit card bills! All fixed! Well, we all know how long THAT would work. And deficit spending, to fix a deficit induced economic collapse will work out just as well!

Next question, who’s funding the deficits? We are selling treasury paper to the Chinese government on a regular basis. We purchase their slave manufactured trinkets with worthless paper money, which is backed by a treasury funded by money borrowed from the Chinese. We all know the Communist Chinese are devout and faithful friends of the USA. What happens when they call the notes? What will happen on the day that we can’t borrow any more to pay the outstanding debt?  What part of America will be claimed to pay our debts?  Will the American labor market become the next pool of slave labor to enable the Chinese  to continue to make cheap goods to sell to other countries?

I started with the old pirate singer’s words. The problem is I only have questions, I am not close to the answers. Or maybe I simply don’t want to know the answers that I suspect may be true. I and many others are dancing around the issue, but the path is narrowing, and more and more it appears that the road we are travelling will be hard and rough travelling. What the world looks like if and when we finish this part of the journey is anyone’s guess. I don’t doubt that it will not resemble what we have seen in the past.

Robert A. Heinlein once said:You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don’t ever count on having both at once.  We may need to consider his words carefully.
